Welcome to my website and to my world. Since retiring from being a Registered Nurse, I've devoted much of my time to writing, particularly in genres like children's stories, memoir writing, and travel writing.
Sometimes it's interesting to know about an author's professional background, so here it is.
**Professional Background**
Public Health Nurse / Educator / Marketing / Business Development
I began my nursing career as an outpost nurse on an isolated Indian Reserve in northern Manitoba - Norway House. I then returned to Ontario as a Public Health Nurse and Visiting Nurse in various capacities.
I retired as the National Director of Health & Wellness for WeCare Health Services, where I:
- Supported nurses in 50 offices across Canada
- Wrote numerous nursing manuals, marketing brochures, and proposals
- Served as the national spokesperson for my company related to home and community care, including palliative care, workplace wellness, immunizations, and aging at home
- Received media training that prepared me for appearances on TV, cable, radio, YouTube, and speaking engagements at conferences.
